The Oxford Blues Festival is now underway and MaxxSouth is excited to be sponsoring this year’s event again!
The festival will take place at various venues around the city of Oxford on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of July. Headlining this year will be Beverly “Guitar” Watkins and the King Bees, The Cedric Burnside Project, and R.L. Boyce Band. The headliners will be performing on the Grove Stage at Ole Miss beginning at 4:15 PM. Other artists performing at the festival include Ben Wiley Payton, “The Great” Effie Burt, Seven Mile Mushroom, and Hill Country Stomp.
On Saturday, come to the J.D. Williams Library and sit down with Beverly “Guitar” Watkins for a free Blues Panel Discussion starting at 11:00 AM. Discover interesting artifacts with Greg Johnson in the Ole Miss Blues Archives at 12:15 PM.
The Oxford Blues Festival’s mission is to preserve, protect, and promote blues music and culture in today’s society.
