OXFORD, Miss. (June 05, 2017)— With the support of community-minded sponsorships, many of Mississippi’s local sporting teams and events are able to get funding, uniforms and needed equipment. MaxxSouth Broadband—a local telecom company—has provided a value of over $30,000 to local sporting teams and events since January of this year.
“MaxxSouth has a strong desire to be a good corporate neighbor by helping out in any way possible,” said Peter Kahelin, president and CEO of MaxxSouth Broadband. “We realize how important extracurricular activities are within the community. Many sports organizations and events rely on outside sponsorships and donations to operate fully.”
Without donations provided by sponsors, some of these organizations would not be able to afford needed equipment or fund the expenses incurred when traveling to compete.
“Our donations have been used for everything from new uniforms and equipment to advertising upcoming events and organizations,” Kahelin said.
Contributions support local teams such as the West Union Little League, Lady Indians Fastpitch Softball, Kosciusko Youth Softball, Elite MS Cheer and Thrasher Rebel Baseball, in addition to various events such as the Rotary Classic Rodeo, Field of Dreams Capital Campaign, Double Decker Spring Run and more.
“We would like to thank MaxxSouth, along with our other sponsors, for helping Kosciusko have a summer league,” said Kay Patrick, coach for Kosciusko Youth Softball. “Our intentions are to teach girls how to play ball—and good sportsmanship that they can carry with them throughout their lives. We have a good coaching staff and good parents that help make this possible.”
