The 36th annual Red Hills Arts and Crafts Festival is just around the corner, and MaxxSouth Broadband is proud to be a sponsor this year! The Winston County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the event for Saturday, May 28th, but things will actually start kicking off Friday night as vendors set up and live music gets things going. Friday night’s entertainment is Paul Wells and Scott McQuaig and the Tomcats.
Saturday is when things really pick up! The day’s activities include the Red Hills Car Show, a 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Run, pet show, art show, carnival rides and games, antique show and sale, live music and entertainment, arts and crafts, and plenty of vendors and food! Live music for the evening will feature Louisville’s own Deja Vu Showband.
The crowd favorite Red Hills Car Show will kick off at 8:00 AM and carry on until 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church parking lot. Over 30 classes of cars, ranging from muscle cars, classics, hot rods, trucks, and motorcycles, will be featured! Judging will take place from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM, with awards presented afterwards.
The 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM respectively Saturday morning with an awards ceremony at 10:00 AM. The top male and female finishers of the 5K Run/Walk will receive $200.00 each, while the top finisher of the 1 Mile Fun Run will receive a $50.00 savings bond! All proceeds from this event will go to the Junior Auxiliary of Louisville to use for projects that benefit the children of Winston County.
The Louisville Historical & Preservation Board will be hosting the 2nd Annual Red Hills Pet Show behind the Chamber building at the original Winston County Library from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. This event is for pet owners ages 6-14. The entry fee is only $3.00 per class, and pets must be 6 months or older and have proof of vaccination. All pet owners must be accompanied by an adult.
For more information about these or any other activities at the festival this year, please call the Winston County Chamber of Commerce at 662-773-3921 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year’s festival is determined to be the best yet, so bring the whole family and join in the fun!
